Outreach

OUTREACH
Along with worship, education, and fellowship, Bethany Covenant Church encourages its members and friends to become actively involved in service opportunities both in the community and in the world. Here are some of the ways you can become involved in serving those in need:

The Friendship Center
Bethany Covenant participates with other churches in reaching out to the homeless and hungry in the New Britain community. Every Monday a group from our church serves lunch.

World Mission
Through the ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church we participate in sponsoring over 150 missionaries in 12 mission fields. In particular we sponsor 10 missionaries. Each spring there is a mission's emphasis including visits from missionaries from various fields and special missionary speakers.

World Relief
Bethany participates in an annual effort during the Thanksgiving season to collect donations to alleviate the pain of hunger and disease in other parts of the world.

The Children's Home of Cromwell
Through our participation in the East Coast Conference, we also contribute to a residential facility that provides nurture and support for children who are victims of various forms of abuse. The Children's Home is a full service Christian residential treatment center, special education school and outpatient therapy program, founded 108 years ago in Connecticut. We help children and their families throughout the state. The Children's Home works with boys and girls ages 8 to 18, to heal them from abuse and/or neglect that has been present in their young lives.  The Children's Home is always in need of items for the children.  Click here for the Wish List

The New England Seafarer's Mission
Through our participation in the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, we share in this the oldest ministry to seafarers on the Eastern seaboard.

The Angel Tree and Angel Tree Camping
Every Christmas season, Bethany participates in the Project Angel Tree sponsored by Prison Fellowship providing gifts to children of those who are in prison. In the summer we sponsor these same children enabling them to attend camp.
