Phil has been senior Pastor at Bethany Covenant since 1986 and has had the joy of seeing Bethany go through the major transition of leaving its long time location in New Britain to building a new facility in Berlin. A graduate of North Park Theological Seminary, Phil has served churches in Nebraska and Colorado. His wife, Nancy is a counselor and spiritual director in private practice. Together they have launched their three children in life– their oldest son Hayden is married and working in Washington DC, while their daughter Gillian and youngest son Noel are students at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland.
Diane has been the Associate Pastor at Bethany since January 2000 and has had the joy of seeing Bethany build Phase II, a new sanctuary and much needed additional classrooms. One of her projects is to help launch the Little Blessings Preschool. A graduate of The Presbyterian School of Christian Education and North Park Theological Seminary, Diane has served churches in Illinois and New Hampshire.
A Bethany member since 1996, Becky has been on staff since 2000. With a degree in counseling, Becky served in schools and community agencies prior to coming to Bethany. She is currently pursuing a M.Div. degree at North Park Theological Seminary. Her husband Ken teaches Family and Consumer Sciences at Hall High School in West Hartford. Together they are enjoying the adventure of raising two wonderful teenagers, Emily and Ben.
Olga was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. She joined the BCC staff in August 2003. She graduated from the prestigious Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music with a Master’s degree in choral conducting. Olga was active conducting a number of professional and amateur choirs in Moscow prior to accepting the position of Director of Music for The Salvation Army, Russia/Ukraine. In that role she led four successful concert tours as leader of youth choirs to Scandinavia, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Moldavia. In 2000, Olga moved to the United States joining her husband Sven. Sven is a professor teaching in the Hartford area.
Colleen brings a rich history of diversified ministry experience, having served children, youth, families, and young couples with a ministry that spans 25 years. She joined the Bethany staff in September 2006 in this newly-created position serving Infant - 5th grade children and their families. She and her husband Albert along with their two children, Andrew and Aaron, are delighted to join in the mission and ministry of the Church.
Sandi has been involved in Stephen Ministry for over 9 years as a leader, minister and trainer. She became a member of Bethany Covenant in 2004 and joined the staff in 2006. Throughout Sandi’s life she has always been drawn toward seniors, she say’s she can’t remember them not being an integral part of her life. Sandi Noel lives in Southington and is the mother of three grown children, Heather, Danielle and Jonathan and the grandmother to 3 year old Jason.
Bruce has been Bethany's sexton since our move to Berlin. Care of our facility has become full time employment, since the completion of our new sanctuary. Bruce attended C.C.S.C. before twenty years in restaurant management. Then, he was the operation manager at Arrow Building Maintenace for nine years. Bruce has a small cleaning company with his wife Dottie, a retired bookkeper. They make their home in New Britain.
Sharon is a life long member of Bethany Covenant Church and has been on staff since 1995. She has seen many changes in the church, with its new location and growth in staff and membership. Sharon oversees the church office and enjoys having two office assistants to work with. She and her husband, Daryl live in Kensington and have two grown children.
Jean has been the Office Assistant since September 2002. A life long member of Bethany, she has seen many changes to the church both through the membership and the moving from New Britain, to the new facility here in Berlin. Retired and living with her husband Ted at Covenant Village of Cromwell, they are the parents of three children and six grandchildren.
Bill's technical experience and an eye for design are paired with more than 10 years of ministry experience. He enjoys using his skills to improve communication efforts via email, internet, and in print. He lives in Farmington with his wife Jean, and two children, William and Grace.
