On Sunday, May 4, at 7:00 p.m. Bethany Music Series will present F. Mendelssohn’s Oratorio “Elijah”. This concert will be the finale of Bethany Music Series 2007-08 season. Once again, the two choirs of Bethany Covenant and of First Church of Christ, Wethersfield, totaling approximately 80 voices will come together to perform a great choral work with organ accompaniment.

“Elijah”, written in 1846, is a choral work that filled with action and drama! Its libretto depicts various events in the life of the prophet Elijah based on texts from I Kings and II Kings. Mendelssohn’s style of composition combines beautiful baroque with the European Romanticism of the 19th Century. Listening to this masterpiece will make you feel like you are having a night in the opera! (Free Will Offering, Reception to Follow, Childcare Provided, Bus from CVoC will depart at 6:15 p.m.)

The cost is $13 for adults and $6 for children under 10.A sign-up sheet is located at the MinistryCenter in the Narthex.Reservations are needed by May 6th.
